Education/Teaching Artist Intern
(August 2014-April 2015)
Ben Niewoehner is a Missouri based arts educator. At Actors Theatre: Director for three plays part of the A/I Company project Voices Inside, including Controversy, Connecting, and Scott Adams. Throughout the season he has engaged students in learning through preshow workshop experiences, taught playwriting residencies within public/private school classrooms, and assisted in the creative processes of developing new and re-envisioned lessons for educational programming, including spearheading the lesson plan for the At the Vanishing Point Preshow Workshop. Previous education experience includes working with STAGES St. Louis, The Walt Disney Company, and classroom teaching within public and private schools and abroad in Italy. He received his Bachelors of Science in Education, with emphasis in Secondary Social Studies, a Minor in Theatre, and Certificate in Multicultural Studies from the University of Missouri.

As part of an intensive, season-long internship, 17 emerging professionals have been entrusted with key positions of responsibility at a Tony award-winning regional theatre.
Throughout the season the interns:
They are a major creative force behind the Apprentice/Intern Company Season and a vital part of this nationally recognized theatre. |
